The outer of the bag is made with cork material - Cork is the bark of the cork oak tree. After extracting the cork, a new layer starts generating which will take nine years until a new harvest can take place. Cork harvesting is conducted in a sustainable manner and does not harm the tree as it is never cut down or removed from its roots.
Cork is a good alternative for animal leather. It is known as Nature’s leather due to the fact that it looks and performs similar to leather, but it is made from a renewable source.
Cork Care - resilient to everyday wear and tear, but, like the finest leather deserves to be treated lovingly. Generally, a wipe with a cloth soaked in warm soapy water and then wrung out will keep the cork clean and remove most marks. Cork is water resistant and good quality cork does not tear.
